A mom said to us, “You guys make me feel like we actually might be ok. I am not always feeling confident, but I know you are there for me and that makes all the difference!” At Peace Place, we know every day is an opportunity to make a difference!

The stress of caring for a child with special health needs presents parents with a difficult conundrum. How can you take the time for yourself, much less your spouse, when your child’s needs take every waking moment?

This is why we do what we do! Parents of children with special needs divorce at much higher rates than the general population. Often, they spend thousands of dollars in medical co-pays that typical families do not have to pay. They deserve our support!

Your gift to Peace Place shows these parents that they are not forgotten, that someone cares about their needs and concerns. Play is good for the heart and the soul – and the smiles on the faces of the children you will be helping are a joy we love to share!

We provide respite for families with children with special needs, train and develop respite workers (even those who don’t work for us), and offer workshops and resources for parents. You can help us by supporting the administrative costs of being licensed by the state, and subsidizing the extra staff costs associated with serving children with special needs.
